Local Membership
All members of Central Connecticut Paralegal Association, Inc. receive notices of meetings, job bank listings and information on local and national educational seminars. New Members receive a membership handbook. In addition, members receive CCPA's newsletter, ParaPhrase, which contains items and articles of local and national importance to paralegals, job bank listings and announcements of CCPA events and programs. The Board of Directors holds monthly meetings. Regularly scheduled luncheon meetings feature speakers, panel discussions and CCPA business. CCPA sponsors CLE seminars. Annually, the December luncheon meeting is set aside as the "Employer Appreciation Luncheon." The employer is invited to the luncheon by the individual member and a portion of the cost of the employer's luncheon is a courtesy of CCPA. The annual meeting for the election of officers and directors is held in May of each year.
CCPA is a member of the Connecticut Alliance of Paralegal Associations (the "Alliance") which also includes Connecticut Association of Paralegals, Inc. ("CAP") and New Haven County Association of Paralegals, Inc.("NHCP"). The Alliance was created to facilitate a network for paralegals working and residing in the state of Connecticut. Through the Alliance, paralegals have worked together statewide on a variety of projects for the benefit of the profession, local communities and residents of Connecticut.
National Affiliation
CCPA is a member of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc.("NFPA"). As a member of CCPA, you are also a member of NFPA. All CCPA members receive the National Paralegal Reporter, the NFPA magazine as well as other NFPA member benefits. Membership in the NFPA provides a vehicle for representing paralegal interests on a national level. |
